FTC San Diego
Who We Are
We are a community of churches committed to creating life-changing moments for children who have experienced relational trauma.
What We Do
We provide a safe place where children can form healthy relationships, build trust and continue their journey toward healing.
Why We Do It
We are motivated by the teaching and example of Jesus. We feel called to show children that their stories are still unfolding.
Our Story
Our story began in 2016 when a small group of people shared a dream — to see their churches make a difference in the lives of children who had experienced abuse, abandonment, and neglect. What started as a spark of compassion grew into a calling. In 2020, that calling took shape and we began the journey of becoming an official For The Children chapter. We became FTC San Diego and held our very first camp in 2021. That week changed everything. We saw smiles return, laughter echo through the camp, and hearts begin to heal. In just five days, we witnessed the incredible power of love, trust, and belonging.
Our camp is more than just a getaway — it’s a place where children can rebuild confidence, form healthy relationships, and take meaningful steps on their journey toward healing. Each child is surrounded by caring, trusted adults who remind them daily that they are seen, cherished, and worthy of love. Every activity, every moment is designed to help them succeed, to let them shine, and to show them that their story matters.
For one extraordinary week each year, these children get to set aside the weight of their past and simply enjoy being kids — laughing, playing, and discovering that joy still belongs to them. It truly is the best week of the year — for them, and for every one of us who gets to be a part of it.
